'America's Got Talent' shuts down production following contestant Jonathan Goodwin's failed stunt
"America Got Talent Extreme" is pausing production after stuntman and contestant Jonathan Goodwin was hospitalized after suffering injuries from a daredevil stunt.
Goodwin is continuing to receive medical care after being immediately hospitalized following the accident.
Previously, he competed in Season 15 of "America's Got Talent" in 2020 and made headlines with his quarterfinals act.
In what judges called a "scary" act, Goodwin doused himself in oil and attempted to escape padlocks and shackles with his vision impaired in under 20 seconds while flames closed in on him.
But instead of going out without a hitch, Goodwin then fell to the ground, hitting his head
He was airlifted to a hospital in critical condition and underwent surgery. His current condition is not known.
Heidi Klum added, "How can you say anything negative to a man who puts himself on fire for us?".
